Zero Guilt
I have zero guilt putting on the Christmas music, pulling out the gnome mug, and filling it with peppermint mocha coffee this morning. It is 12° outside with a windchill of -4°. It’s been snowing steadily since yesterday, highways are closed or closing, and even Michael was sent home early. I’m mentally Christmas shopping, planning holiday menus, and have contemplated calling Target to see when their Christmas decor will be put out. I’m in my element.
Of course, I’m also still reveling in pumpkin spice, the scent of leaves, burnt oranges and deep burgundies, plaid scarves, and adorable, posed, Halloween pictures of my children. It’s all about balance.
Poor Tallulah just isn’t sure about any of this yet. That’s okay. I’ll bet she gets into the spirit of things when she finds her new balls and treats on Christmas morning. (Yes. The furry babies get gifts too around here!)
