First Day
Today was our first day back to old routines. The boys jetted off to their first days of 5th and 3rd grade. While we are a homeschooling family (and we won’t start our own school days until the beginning of September) they have both participated in a public school enrichment program since kindergarten.
Bash hardly slept due to nerves, and neither did I, but they were both all smiles and excitement this morning. Best of all, they were both still smiles and excitement this afternoon at pick up, which I call a successful day!
Back to school also means Back to Pink Drink Tuesdays, a tradition I started with Eleanor (and baby Mabel) last year. There are a multitude of things we can choose to do together on Tuesday when it’s just me and my girls, but we always start off our day with a Pink Drink. We sit together and sip on our drinks, sometimes she’s nibbling on a cake pop or scone too, and decide what we’ll do that day, talk about our hopes and dreams, or giggle over something that happened over the past week. It’s a tradition I really enjoy, and one that I hope we’re still doing in 15 years while I wonder how there are two near-grown women in front of my instead of my tiny girls.
