Ollie Cat

Before Ollivander came Shamrock, Barkley, and Tessa. I lost Shamrock back in 2011. She was 17, Michael was deployed, and I was pregnant with Sebastian at the time. She's been mine, or I'd been hers, since I was 10 years old, and I took it hard.

Barkley passed in the summer of 2016. Barkley had been Michael's since he was about 18, and he was 18 when he passed.

Despite the fact that Tessa and Barkley had liked to pretend that they hated one another, she was never the same once he passed away. She wasn't eating, wasn't cleaning herself properly, and nothing seemed to be wrong with her at all outside of the fact that Barkley had recently died. Though she was only 12, Tessa passed away shortly before Christmas that year.

After that I said no more. No more cats. I couldn't take it. I meant it, and we were a catless household for about 2 years. Much how "the wand chooses the wizard", Ollivander chose his family when we went to our local shelter one day last summer.

He's especially close to Sebastian, which isn't a surprise to me at all, but I think he likes all of us. He's a bit of a messy eater, but his little cat bowls in the bathroom make me smile every morning.

I missed having a cat around.
