Quarterly Report

Another quarterly trip to Bash’s endo is in the books. For the first time since diagnosis his A1C went up instead of down. (0.4 points) I immediately started second guessing myself, mind racing. What had I done wrong? Where had I miscalculated? What had I missed in his numbers over the last 3 months? How had I failed? 

I am assuming that my internal monologue was written all over my face too, because his endo took one look at me, laughed kindly, and said “He’s grown almost 3 inches and gained a couple of pounds since October. That number is right where it should be.” 

In related news, the size gap between Sebastian and Parker has narrowed to a mere inch now. Believe me, they have been paying attention. Big brother is horrified. Little brother is thrilled. Don’t tell Parker, but I would not be surprised if Bash is taller than him this time next year unless he has a significant growth spurt. (Which is completely possible.)
