Surprise!

It used to be surprises in cereal boxes, but now it’s the surprise at the bottom of my coffee cup. 

If life comes in seasons this has been one filled with storms. If life comes in chapters this is that one you read through anxiously, frequently peeking forward to see how many more pages you have to endure. 

But storms have moment of beauty, and even the worst chapters have their amazing, powerful passages that make the painful parts worth it. We will look back on these times, and hopefully we will remember more of the beauty than the pain. More of the good than the bad. More of the happy than the sad. 

Life is too short to do anything else.
